D'Val was born in Glasgow, Scotland. His parents both security officers aboard the Starbase 01, D'Val was raised mostly on the station. Vacations were spent planet side enjoying his homeland.
At the age of 8 D'Val was informed that both his parents were killed during a prisoner transfer. Seems a Klingon and a Romulan somehow broke their bonds. Normally his parents never actually worked together, but this was a large group and so extra personnel were brought in to help. D'Val watched the records for years after and noticed that each of the prisoners spoke in their own language in short clips. He found later that they had been planning the break for some time, each of the prisoners knew one of the others language and that is how they relayed information to each other. D'Val worked hard and played little, much to his god-parents dismay. His parents had taught him basic combat techniques, but religion was always an open subject with them. During his high school years D'Val took all the hardest classes and during the summer he took pre-academy training. Graduating High School with honor he was immediately accepted into Starfleet Academy. During his training D'Val learned many things, including the fact that he harbored a hatred for convicts. On graduation of the Academy he found flowers on his bed. White lily's from the garden, with a note. To my friend D, your friend B. A sign that he had in fact graduated from the young hating boy, to the strong fighting man, one who's goal was to fight and protect those who cannot help themselves. He never knew the gardeners name, but they had spoken often. |
