HISTORY
Lieutenant Commander Jessie Kirk is nothing like her twin brother. While he is cerebral and likes to think things through she is often irrational and overemotional. She often acts with her heart and not with her head. Not to say that she is not smart, quite the contrary. Her problem however lies in the fact that she wishes to follow in the footsteps of their great uncle the famous Captain James T. Kirk, whose name will forever be known in the annels of galactic history.

Jessie, as she likes to be called grew up in Riverside Iowa, along with her twin brother Jayme. Growing up Jessie and Jayme couldn't have been more different. While Jayme was studious and cerebral Jessie was very physical and athletic. She spent her life training to follow her great uncle into space, hoping to follow in his footsteps and have her name etched into the very stars themselves. As soon as she was old enough Jessie caught the first shuttle that she could and headed to Starfleet Academy. There Jessie used her name to her advantage, getting pretty much automatically excepted into the Academy and the being giving her choice of careers. While it may have seemed that she was riding on her uncles coattails she did in fact work her own way up. She simply used her name to get the little extra push.

After four years of study she graduated the Academy near the top of her class. Most people looked at her as though she hadn't done it on her own and in some instances she didn't. However Jessie was no slouch and did work very hard to earn her place. After graduating she was given her choice of assignment and choose to serve on the Constitution Class USS Eagle as a Secuity Officer. The Eagle spent a year exploring space near the Beta Quadrant. She would remain there for the duration of her mission. However she yearned to see real action and when she learned the the Eagles next assignment was a planetary survey mission she requested transfer and was placed on the Miranda Class USS Oklahoma. The ship saw a lot of action and was eventually destroyed. Jessie spent 1 month in a lifeboat before being rescued by the USS Yorktown, a Constitution Class ship. On the way to Earth the ship was attacked and several members of the crew were killed. She jumped in at tactical and distinguished herself in battle. The Captain of the Yorktown asked that she stay aboard as a Security Officer and she accepted, being given a promotion to the rank of Lieutenant.

The ship entered battle with Kzinti and was severely damaged. She did however survive but limped back into Space Dock for refits. While there she yearned to get back into space and transferred to the USS Valkyrie to serve as the Assistant Chief Security Officer. It was only after the transfer had been finalized and they set out on their mission that she came to regret her decision to transfer. She learned weeks later that the Yorktown was to be renamed USS Enterprise A and placed under the command of her great uncle in honor of his service to Starfleet and sacrifice of the original Enterprise.

Jessie only served on the Valkyrie for 6 months before learning the her captain, the former Commanding Officer of the Yorktown wanted her to become the Chief of Security of his new command the USS Nimitz. There she would be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander after taking command of the ship when most of the other senior officer were incapacitated in a battle with a Kzinti ship. Ironically it was commanded by the same Kzinti Commander that had destroyed the Oklahoma. Under Jessies command the Nimitz was able to gain a measure of justice and obliterate the attacker.

After another year on the Nimitz she decided to take a sabatical to Earth where she spent some time with her parents. She also began to miss her brother, whom she hadn't seen in over 6 years. After doing a bit of research she learned that he had been given a posting aboard the USS America. Calling in some favors and once again using her name to her advantage she was given the position of Americas Chief of Security, in hopes that she could be with her brother.
